Special Education Technician Laboratory of Practice Plan
Certification Central’s special education technician program incorporates content on educating students with emotional disturbance
(ED), learning disabilities (LD), intellectual disabilities (ID), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Additionally, you are being
prepared to work with students in grades PK through 12. Throughout your laboratory hours, you will need to work with students: a)
across all four disability categories, b) at the PK/elementary level, and c) students at the middle/secondary level. You do not need to
meet these requirements for each lab, rather by the end of your final lab experience.
