Want to teach in Colorado?

Below are the requirements for selecting Certification Central as your training program.

Is there interstate reciprocity between ND and Colorado?

     No

If I go through Certification Central, do I first need to obtain a ND teaching license and then apply for a license in Colorado where I want to teach?

No, eligibility verification for the ND license by the licensing officer at Certification Central is sufficient.

Do I need to have actual teaching experience in ND?

     No

If I enroll in Certification Central, what are the steps to getting a license in Colorado?

First, review the information on the out-of-state applicant page at:

https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeprof/outofstateteacher

Then apply for the Special Education Generalist License (initial license) at the Colorado Teacher

License Application site (COOL) by clicking on the “Login” to COOL on the bottom of the page

after the “Then…” heading.
